After a lengthy hiatus from the cigar industry, Tim Ozgener, renowned for his tenure at the helm of CAO, reemerged in 2022 with a new project. Bosphorus, his first blend in over a decade, initially faced some production challenges, with Ozgener switching to Ernesto Perez-Carrillo as his manufacturer, who now produces the cigars in the Dominican Republic. The brand is named in honor of Ozgener's Turkish roots, specifically the Bosphorus Strait. Although it doesn't feature any Turkish tobacco, the blend boasts a Havana 2000 wrapper and Nicaraguan filler, yielding a smooth, sweet smoking experience characterized by notes of cocoa powder, coffee, nutmeg, and marzipan.
