The New World Dorado is a cigar that showcases a distinct estate-like character, as a significant portion of its tobacco is sourced from a single, prized plot of land - the Dorado farm in Nicaragua's Estelí region. A.J. Fernandez, the owner of both the farm and the cigar, has crafted a blend that is entirely Nicaraguan in origin. The wrapper and binder, both grown on the Dorado farm, feature a sun-grown, Cuban-seed wrapper and a Criollo '98 binder. While the filler blend includes tobacco from a couple of other fields, the majority of it comes from the Dorado farm. Notably, this relatively young plantation, only five years old, has produced tobacco from its first harvest that has yielded exceptional results. The smoking experience is marked by a rich, complex flavor profile, with each puff delivering a layered taste of caramel, orange peel, nuts, and a strong espresso note.
