As part of the annual Edición Limitadas series, which has been thrilling cigar connoisseurs globally for years, this particular release is making waves. The Edición Limitadas concept, now in its fifth year, involves crafting a unique vitola for a specific brand, wrapping it in a rich, dark brown leaf aged two years, and producing a limited batch of around 10,000 boxes containing 25 cigars each. Notably, the Montecristo Robusto was among the inaugural Edición Limitadas releases back in 2001, making this re-release a celebration of the line's five-year milestone. The second iteration is considered an improvement over the original. This 4 7/8 by 50 cigar embodies the characteristic cedar, earthy, and tobacco flavors associated with Montecristo, with the added depth and intensity brought by the darker wrapper, resulting in a more robust smoking experience.
